Our mission is to help our customers deliver the Safeship?; improving safety at sea for crew, cargo and vessels through watertight integrity and fire safety. We design simple-to-use and highly- accurate hand-held instruments, developed for crews to use, in demanding ergonomic and climatic environments. At the heart of Naval Damage Control and Safety & Survivability is the ability to test watertight compartmentation and the contents of a ships gaseous extinguishing system. Coltraco Ultrasonics are the global leader in these two specialised areas with two hand-held instruments called Portascanner? Watertight and Portalevel? MAX respectively. The former enables the crew to test for the watertight integrity of compartments, watertight compartment doors, hatch-covers and hatches. The latter enables the crew to test for the contents contained within the highly pressurised gases contained within their large cylinders. Each of these products has its own NATO Stock and IMPA Purchasing Nos, are ABS Type-Approved and manufactured to UL certification. We use airborne ultrasound to detect leak-sites with an aperture of less than 0.06mm with Portascanner? Watertight and ultrasound in liquids to test the contents of liquefied CO2, FM-200? and NOVEC? 1230 Clean Agent extinguishing systems to an accuracy of +/-1.5mm with Portalevel? MAX. We are in service in an array of complex and demanding land and marine environments from the Arctic to the Pacific and in-service with nearly 20% of the world’s Commercial ocean-going vessels, 50% of the world’s offshore energy platforms and 1 of the world’s 4 manufacturers of wind energy turbines. We offer free online training for every customer and provide technical support, spare parts and maintenance for our equipment. We export 89% to 120 countries. In 2019 our company won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
